Clubs & Groups
Penmaenmawr has since 1972 had an active Rotary club, linking us with neighbouring Llanfairfechan as it covers both communities; it meets weekly at the Spit Willow, Llanfairfechan on Thursday evenings.
Visitors are welcome, especially if you are a Rotarian touring our area.
Members are active in many areas of community life, and also via our projects in the wider world community, where there are over 1.2 million members giving service wherever there is a need.
If you or your group need assistance, either hands-on, or with funding issues, contact us to see if we can help; we'll try our best to do so!
We are NOT a secret society, but active members of our community, and invite other like-minded individuals to consider joining us. Use the "contact us" link on our website Rotary Club of Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr for more information, or ask any member.
We'll invite you along to a meeting or event and you can see for yourself what we do, and how we do it!
Some of the things we have done recently include our annual Schools Art Competition, presenting dictionaries to all year 6 pupils, helping with promenade days, carnivals, and other social events, running blood pressure check clinics, helping local groups and individuals in need, helping Santa tour our streets, collecting and shipping usable cycles, clothes and other useful goods to people in eastern Europe, kitting out a local under 11's soccer team, helping to raise funds for Rotary's PolioPlus programme, started in 1985 to eliminate poliomyelitis worldwide (and now almost done we're on the home straight!).
Fun events have been visits to local places of interest, wine tastings, visits to our local AmDram productions (and excellent too!).
Every year we host a team of young professionals from another part of the world, who have come here to see how their profession works in a different culture and we send them a team of our own in exchange.
Why do we do it? Because we gain fun and fellowship by working together! Any queries, please contact Rotary Club of Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr
